FUNDACIÓN TECNALIA RESEARCH & INNOVATION is the leading private and independent research and technology entity in Spain, fifth largest in Europe. TECNALIA employs 1,437 people (164 PhDs) and its turnover is 121Me, it filled 53 patents, had 3800 clients and created 8 spin-offs in 2009. It is very active in the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) having already gained 150 projects, coordinating 31 of them.
MAIN TASKS IN THE PROJECT
The main task to be carried out in ECOSOLE project is related with materials, coatings study and development for the optics of the system: reflective, antireflective, multifunctional coatings for the free form mirror, free form secondary optic and cover glass.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND PUBLICATIONS/PATENTS
The experience of more than 20 years comprises: hybrid and inorganic coatings with sol-gel technology on different substrates, incorporation of inorganic oxide nanoparticles in sol-gel/electrophoretic combined processes, plasma polymerization of inorganic-based and organic based films, PVD of monolayers, mutilayers, gradient layers, plasma surface functionalization and wettability modification. This activity is completed with polymer and organic matrix composites processing group and supported by the optical design group, who works in the design of optical interference systems, optical models for complex multilayer glazing systems and lens design for PV concentration systems.
